The group is fully compliant with the Skills Development Act.
Particular attention is given to talent management, with initiatives aimed at identification, preservation and development of key skills, succession planning for key positions, career planning for staff, staff retention strategies for critical skills categories and the identification and development of present and future BEE candidates.
An apprenticeship programme has been established to develop artisans in the key functional areas to assist in building capacity and the skills base to ensure long-term sustainability. The group is further preparing for future skills requirements through on-job development opportunities and study bursaries, particularly in the areas of mechanical and civil engineering.
