Nkomati Anthracite, Mangweni Shaft, Mpumalanga, has a vacancy for a;

General Engineering Supervisor

Minimum Qualifications / Experience
  • N6/Trade Test (Electrical/Mechanical).
  • Gas & Flameproofing Certificate.
  • 5-10 years underground coal mining experience as a GES.
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience as Foreman or GES.
  • Knowledge of underground machinery, diesel LHD’s, battery scoop trams, feeder breakers, compressors and air equipment, pumps, conveyors, roof bolt, coal cutter, and ventilation fan.
  • Experience in High / Medium Voltage.
  • Knowledge of Maintenance Processes of underground and surface equipment. Computer Literate.
  • Flameproof experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Key Functions & responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Maintenance of all underground and surface machines and equipment as well as water and power reticulation, ventilation appliances and conveyor systems.
  • Contract management experience and working knowledge of repair and services contracts.
  • Proactively diagnose problems while providing solutions for underground and area of responsibility.
  • Reporting, and investigating barriers to effective quality performance, causes of delays and abnormalities and ensure mitigating plans are prepared and implemented.
  • Plan and schedule work, ensure execution and monitor accordingly.
  • Adherence to the MHS Act, OHS Act, and GMR 2 regulations.
  • Planning, organizing, leading and control management.
  • Pragma planned maintenance management system.

The candidate must be medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act and the Company standards for medical fitness.
