Afrimat believes in creating value not only for its shareholders but also for people in the communities where it operates.

Integrating Genuine Transformation

Genuinely passionate about South Africa, our geographical footprint allows us to positively impact the socio-economic circumstances of different communities across the country.

Economic Development Projects

Through numerous social and labour plans, the Afrimat Group is invested in over 40 economic development projects nationally. These projects are conducted in consultation with various government departments, local municipalities, tribal authorities and NGO’s. The group targets a portion of our profit for contribution to these initiatives.

We do not take a blanket approach. These projects are all aimed at addressing specific needs in different communities, such as education/ECD infrastructure, education programmes, water infrastructure, and skills development programmes aimed at empowering unemployed youth.

Social Development Programmes

Furthermore, we positively contribute to communities in the form of learnerships, bursaries, internships and job creation through local SMME’s which we support and mentor.

Youth unemployment remains one of the burning issues in South Africa. Through our diversification strategy, the group not only runs training programmes for unemployed youth, but also create employment opportunities in the different regions.

Adding to the extensive social development programmes in the regions in which the group operates, Afrimat also has an active HIV/AIDS awareness drive. Issues relating to the disease are addressed via channels of communication such as the staff newsletter.
