Fitter Learnership
Minimum Qualifications / Experience
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- An N4/N5 qualification in Boilermaking or Mechanical Engineering will be advantageous.
- Willingness to learn and undergo practical training.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of the team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take initiative.
- Physically fit and willing to work overtime when required.
- A valid driver’s licence will be advantageous.
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Assist the qualified Fitter with the maintenance, repair and installation of plant equipment.
- Assist with the replacement of crusher wear parts.
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of jaw crushers, cone crushers and screening equipment.
- Assist with the replacement of V-belts, bearing, pulleys, gearboxes and other mechanical components under supervision.
- Assist with changing gearbox and hydraulic oils, lubricating plant equipment, and collecting oil samples for condition monitoring.
- Assist in replacing screen panels, sieves, skirting and conveyor components.
- Assist with inspecting mechanical equipment and identifying defects requiring maintenance.
- Assist with planned preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area in accordance with the Company's safety standards.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures and comply with all healthy and safety regulations.
- Perform any other maintenance- related duties assigned by the Artisan or Maintenance Supervisor.
- Maintain good housekeeping in accordance with the company standards.
