Afrimat Mining Services, based in Tygerberg Quarry (Western Cape) has a vacancy for a:
Front End Loader Operator
Minimum Qualification / Experience
- Grade 12 certificate
- Valid operator’s license
- Be literate and functionally numerate
- 3-5 years loader experience on CAT L980 or a similar machine
- Experience in working in remote mining sites and in a cross-cultural working environment
- Knowledgeable of Mine Health and Safety Act requirements
- General mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery
- Ability to work under pressure and meet targets
- Ability to safely work, day and night shifts on a rotational basis
- Able to work in harsh weather conditions
Duties and responsibilities (not limited to):
- Safely operate the front-end loader for allocated tasks
- Perform required inspection and basic maintenance of front-end loader to ensure safe operating condition of the loader
- Understand the day’s production plans
- Load / move materials as instructed
- Prepare accesses, work areas and surfaces
- Remain vigilant to avoid potential safety hazards when operating the machine
- Keep the machine clean and fill up with fuel and grease as required
- General work on site when required (none operating)
