Health and Safety Intern
Duration: 2 years
Minimum Requirements / Skills / Attributes
- Grade 12
- National diploma / Degree in Safety or Environmental Health
- Samtrac Qualification (Preferably Mining Samtrac)
- Driver’s license (Essential)
- Must be fluent in English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996 legislation
- Knowledge of Environmental related legislation would be advantageous
- Must be from the Midvaal Municipality
- Attention to detail
- Honest and Reliable
- Self Starter
- Good Communication Skills
- Adaptable to change
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Self disciplined and motivated
Duties and responsibilities (not limited to):
- Assist SHE team to oversee and manage day-to-day functions
- Assist in developing, implementing, reviewing and improving company SHE policies, SOP’s, COP’s and risk assessments
- Schedule and attend weekly / monthly SHE meetings as well as committee meetings
- Assist with workplace inspections, audits and address all findings
- Conduct toolbox talks
