IT Technician (Hardware/Networking)
Minimum Requirements / Skills / Attributes
- Must have their A+ and N+/CCNA qualification
- Additional certifications (advantageous): MS-900 MTCNA / UEWA ITIL v4
- Min 2-4 years’ experience in a similar role
- Based in Nkomati
- Must be fluent in English
- Afrikaans/ Xhosa speaking (Advantageous)
- Excellent communication and technical knowledge
- Wired and wireless networking experience
- Desktop support and troubleshooting experience
- Microsoft Office 365, OneDrive, SharePoint experience
- Valid code 8 driver’s license and reliable v
- Must be willing to travel to various operation
- The candidate must be medically fit in terms the Mine Health and Safety Act.

Duties and responsibilities (not limited to):
The Onsite IT Infrastructure Technician will provide hands-on IT support across multiple Afrimat operations, including Nkomati Anthracite and surrounding sites. The role focuses on maintaining reliable network connectivity, supporting end-users, and ensuring uptime of production-critical systems.
- Provide end-user IT support and resolve technical queries
- Troubleshoot and maintain network and radio infrastructure
- Maintain wireless connectivity (PtP/PtMP links, outdoor Wi-Fi)
- Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure across sites
- Ensure uptime of production-critical systems: Network connectivity, Access control systems, Weighbridge operations
- Setup and support Windows devices and user profiles
- Assist with Microsoft 365 administration
- User management (Exchange, Teams, OneDrive)
- Maintain and update IT asset systems
- Support fibre connectivity where required
