Production Foreman
Minimum Qualification / Experience
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Valid operator’s license
- Production/Engineering related qualification
- 5 years + experience in quarrying/mining production
- 2 years + experience in a supervisory function
- Pit experience with Competent A advantageous
- Job specific knowledge
- Planning and organization skills
- Analytical skills and problem solving
- Communicate effectively (verbal and written)
- Demonstrate competence in field of expertise
- Be able to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Computer literate
- Be informed with MHSA Regulations and Environmental Laws
Duties and responsibilities (not limited to):
- Oversee the entire production line of the quarry from load and haul, plant production and product quality
- Liaise with TMM operators, plant production team & fixed plant maintenance team
- Scheduling work by anticipating needs and monitoring progress
- Gather and analyse information, identify solutions and solve problems
- Achieve production set targets
- Ensure that material, information, and tools are efficiently organized
- Knowledge of the safety, health and environmental systems and applying them actively
- Monitor plant performance and ensure plant efficiency standards are met
- Set direction for self and the team
- Promote responsibility and empowerment
- Encourage performance, offer support and guidance where required
- Ensure products meet relevant SANS specifications
- Be knowledgeable with the Afrimat KPI and AVA system
