Afrimat Contracting International (Hartebeesfontein) based in Balmoral has a vacancy for a:
Diesel Mechanic Assistant
Minimum Qualifications / Experience:
- Grade 12 certificate
- 3 years’ + experience as a diesel workshop assistant
- Computer literate – ability to open job cards
- Basic knowledge on lubricants for various equipment
- Working knowledge of different tools
- Understanding of Preventative Maintenance, service intervals daily machine checks
- Good communication and collaboration skills
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Working knowledge of most earthmoving machinery (mobile plant, loaders, dumpers, excavators, LDVs, mobile crushing and screening machines)
- Assist in performing first line maintenance task on all yellow fleet
- Assist with breakdowns, repairs on plant and equipment
- Understanding of Mine Health & Safety Regulations
- Conduct PTOs
- Complete risk assessments
- Housekeeping, clean work habits and ensure the work area is always clean
- Adhere to Environmental regulations
