Hammer Operator
Minimum Qualifications / Experience:
- Grade 12
- Be literate and functionally numerate
- Pre-employment medical required
- Valid Excavator Operator license
- Ability to sit for long periods; and endure constant shuddering
- Will be assessed on vision and ability to distinguish between back up alarms, voices and other normal sounds consistent with quarry sites.
Duties and responsibilities (not limited to)
- Do the required pre-start checks and report any problems that have been identified
- Safely operate the Hydraulic Hammer for allocated task as per schedule
- Care for the Machine; Attend to problems immediately; operate machine within the manufacture’s specifications and in accordance with the standards set during training; fill up with fuel as required; keep machine clean
- Available to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to communicate with people at all levels
- Ability to meet physical demands of job position
- Be willing to work overtime and weekends as this will be required
- Will be able to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Will be able to work independently as well in a team environment
