Maintenance Manager
Minimum Qualification / Requirements
- South African Citizen
- Grade 12 is essential
- Minimum Red Seal (Millwright or Diesel Mechanic) essential
- N6 Diploma / bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering will be advantageous
- Minimum of 10 - 15 years Maintenance and Operational experience
- Strong knowledge of processing plant Lime equipment (e.g., kilns, blowers, mills, crushers, conveyors) and maintenance best practices
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing a technical team.
- Familiarity with occupational and mines health & safety standards, environmental regulations, and quality control processes.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency in maintenance management software (e.g., On Key Plus and MS Office).
- Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Knowledge of modern predictive maintenance techniques (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography
- Knowledge of Automation and Electrical systems will be advantage
Duties and responsibilities (not limited to):
- Maintenance and reliable operation of all assigned infrastructure, machinery and plants
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance of plant equipment and machinery.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
- Manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations
- Ensure compliance with Mines health, safety, and environmental regulations in all maintenance activities
- Monitor and control maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to support plant operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and spare parts inventory.
- Supplier Management & Liaison
- Operating & administering Computerized Maintenance Systems
- Mentor apprentices
- Pro-actively support and participate in safety, health and environmental initiatives
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the workplace
- Manage and maintain tools of Cape Lime
- Work overtime when required, provided such a requirement is reasonable and within the law
- Maintain a well-disciplined and productive working environment
- Own transport from home to work and back
