Afrimat Mining Services, based in Tygerberg Quarry has a vacancy for:
Multi Skilled Operator
Minimum Qualification / Requirements:
- Grade 12.
- Licensing for Earth Moving machines such as an Excavator and Loader is a requirement.
- Knowledgeable in Hitachi ZX470 Excavator or a similar machine and CAT L966 Loader or a similar machine.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in an open pit-mining.
- Experience in working in remote mining sites and in a cross-cultural working environment.
- Knowledgeable of Mine Health and Safety Act requirements.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to safely work, day and night shifts on a rotational basis.
- Able to work in harsh weather conditions.
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited not):
- Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company’s operating and safety policies and procedures (Excavator and Loader).
- Completes required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation (pre – start checks and daily inspections).
- Provide recommendations for maintaining and improving environmental performance.
- Ensure that the equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner.
- Rotation between operating earth moving machines and assisting at Mobile Crushing equipment when required.
