Ash Resources, based at Lethabo Powerstation has a vacancy for a:
Operations Manager
Minimum Qualifications / Experience:
- Relevant Tertiary qualification, MBA would be advantageous
- 7+ years of experience in operations or plant management in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in the cement, fly ash, or construction materials industry preferred
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of production planning, quality control, supply chain, and maintenance systems
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication abilities
- Understanding of environmental and regulatory compliance specific to fly ash handling and usage.
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Oversee daily plant operations including production planning, scheduling, maintenance, inventory, and logistics
- Ensure products are manufactured on time and within quality and cost targets
- Implement lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste
- Maintain compliance with environmental regulations, health and safety standards, and industry codes
- Develop and monitor KPIs to measure plant performance, quality, and output
- Manage procurement of raw materials, particularly fly ash and other inputs
- Coordinate with R&D and quality assurance teams to enhance product development and consistency.
- Lead, mentor, and develop production and operations staff
- Liaise with senior management to align operations with strategic goals
- Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and reports on operational performance
